In Philippians 2:5-8; he “emptied himself” of his envahely glory and spirit nature and “took a slave’s form” in submitting to the transferal of his life to the earthly, material, human plane. (Job 1:6-12; 2:2-6) As the firstborn Son, Jesus, of all God’s creatures, could give the most conclusive answer to that charge and the finest evidence in favor of his Father’s side in the larger issue of the rightfulness of Jehovah’s universal sovereignty. Thereby he would prove to be “the Amen .a0.a0.a0, the faithful and true witness.” (Re 3:14) If he failed, he would reproach his Father’s name as none other could.In selecting his only-begotten Son, Jehovah, of course, was not ‘laying his hands hastily upon him,’ with the risk of being ‘a sharer in possible sins,’ for Jesus was no novice likely to get “puffed up with pride and fall into the judgment passed upon the Devil.” (Compare 1Ti 5:22; 3:6.) Jehovah ‘fully knew’ his Son from his intimate association with him during countless ages past (Mt 11:27) and could therefore assign him to fulfill the unerring prophecies of His Word.

to Philip in John 14:9 when Philip asked Jesus to show them the Father.Do you not believe Jesus is both God and man? If so, then what is the oberlpm? In the last chapter of Revelation, Jesus said he is the root and the offspring of David.I can send you more if you are interested. E-mail me.The Trinity is a doctrine of confusion. The Bible does not say God in three persons, not one single time.The Catholic and Orthodox churches are not Apostolic because they do not do what the Apostles said.

Hebrews 2:8-9, it is very interesting as to what you said above in regards to the Hebrews 2:8-9 passage. But I found when reading the Hebrews 2:8-9 in its full context, your translation that you mention actually enhances the idea, that Jesus was the conqueror of death. Your explanation then shows a lack of the understanding that the trinity is 1 God in 3 persons (the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit) and that when God is referred to typically on His own, it is simply referring to God the Father.

In addition to this the manuscripts are not said to be perfect, but the original inspired texts are said to be perfect, using the same above reasons that you have stated above. My aim as a Christian is to have the most accurate translation of the Bible, and sometimes it takes people like yourself to awake Christians to a truth.

If anything your expose to me actually enhances Biblical translation, but will aim to have your thoughts verified.

Thanks for the comment Rob. It would be great to have some feedback from you after you have read the book. It is a work that uses reason and evidence (rather than mere faith) to understand the true, real-life historical Jesus. I wonder if the truth might change your mind. Would you feel the same way about Jesus if you realised that he was a fully fledged, practising Jew? As a Jew he would have been highly offended that generations have hailed him as a god… Jesus taught the way to god, but he himself was a mere, mortal man.

You know, even though I’ve been an atheist for years now, I never thought of biblical myths are being THAT ridiculous or far-fetched, probably because I was raised with them. But when my then-8-year-old daughter asked me to explain to her the Easter story and why it is so important to Christians, and I saw all the incredulous expressions on her face, followed by her statement, “That’s just crazy, Mom,” well, it opened my eyes even further. I wish I had the time and space to share the rest of her observations…they were priceless (and hilarious).
